Workshop Description:
This five-hour ethics workshop for Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Psychologists will provide clinicians with an opportunity to discuss difficult ethical dilemmas/situations from their psychotherapy practices using real case examples with the goal of expanding their clinical skills. These discussions will be processed by a panel of experts in the field who have been chair of the AAMFT Ethics Committee, who have served on the Georgia Composite Board, are current and past members of AAMFT leadership and who have over 42 years of collective supervisory experience.
Workshop Objectives:
- Participants will learn how to navigate difficult ethical situations through the process of group supervision.
- Participants will learn to use the AAMFT ethical decision making paradigm.
- Participants will learn about the new revisions of the AAMFT Code of Ethics.
- Participants will learn about the process of ethical complaints that come before the Composite Board.
- Participants will have an opportunity to ask the panel of experts questions they have from their “real life experience” of being a therapist.
