Shelley Deady

Shelley is passionate about helping individuals and couples heal from underlying trauma, ultimately improving all aspects of life. Her therapy is collaborative, integrative and attachment informed. She believes that within her clients exists an inner wisdom and natural drive towards healing and views her role as guide on the side, creating the safe, compassionate environment for this process to unfold.  Shelley’s areas of competencies include working with the impact of relationship and partner trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, personality disorder, sleep disturbance, emotion regulation, dissociative symptoms, self-esteem, executive functioning issues, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm.  Shelley provides individual and couple’s therapy to those aged 18yrs or older under the direction of Jennifer Vann, LMFT and supervision of Jennifer Vann, LMFT, and Mary Gay, PhD, LPC, CPCS.

Shelley is a Certified LAMFT, Trauma Professional (CCTP-I certified, CCTP-II trained), Certified Personality Disorder Provider (C-PD) and has advanced training in EMDR, EMDR Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She also integrates elements of Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Mindfulness-based treatment. She has earned a B.S. in Biology and MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University, that has provided a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, and how trauma is held in, and released through and from the body.

In her spare time, Shelley enjoys spending time with her combined family with six children. She is a former competitive athlete who enjoys many recreational sports, as well as being an avid oil-painter.
