Julia is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in suicide, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, CPTSD, and trauma. Julia is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS).

She is passionate about helping adolescents and adults live happy, satisfying lives. She believes that an individual’s well-being is essential to his or her overall health and success. Julia uses collaborative and integrated therapy approaches to address an individual’s needs and goals in therapy. She believes that the client is the expert on their own life, and the therapist is a tool to help guide the client towards acceptance, change, and understanding. Julia’s areas of specialties include suicide, self-harming, eating disorders, body image concerns, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, CPTSD, and trauma. Julia provides individual counseling to adults and adolescents starting at age 15. 

Julia is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has been practicing DBT since 2015. She practices full protocol DBT including providing individual DBT counseling, and 24 hour phone consultation for emergency behavior reduction.

In addition to DBT, Julia also provides non-DBT counseling. She has training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS), and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) which enables her to effectively collaborate with clients to meet their needs and goals. 

Julia attended Mercer University where she earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling has been practicing since 2015. Julia has gained experience working with adolescents and adults in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings focusing on suicide, self-harm, mood disorders, anxiety, and eating disorders.

In her spare time Julia enjoys running, listening to music, drinking coffee, and spending quality time with friends and family. Julia is married, a mother, and has two cats named Chloe and Riley.
