Susan Liddy MAMFT

Associate Therapist

Susan Liddy is a master’s-level therapist who helps individuals living with IBS and other gastrointestinal conditions find relief from the gut-brain patterns that often keep symptoms going long after medical treatment has begun. She works from the understanding that IBS is a disorder of gut-brain interaction, and that lasting improvement often requires addressing both the physical symptoms and the nervous system patterns that influence them. Drawing from gut-directed CBT, gut-directed hypnotherapy, clinical hypnosis, and mindfulness, Susan helps clients reduce symptom-related anxiety, calm the gut-brain stress response, and regain confidence in daily activities such as travel, work, social events, and eating out.

In addition to her work in IBS and brain-gut psychotherapy, Susan helps couples and individuals who feel stuck in painful relationship patterns. Her approach is grounded in attachment science, nervous system regulation, and experiential work that help clients move beyond surface-level communication problems to the deeper emotions driving conflict and disconnection. Drawing from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), clinical hypnosis, and inner child work, she helps couples strengthen emotional bonds and helps individuals heal longstanding relational patterns, develop greater self-awareness, and create healthier, more secure connections with the people who matter most.

Susan earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University in 2004. She holds advanced training in EFT, gut-directed CBT, gut-directed hypnotherapy, and MBSR, and is a member of the Rome Foundation and the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis.

Susan practices under the supervision and clinical direction of Jenn Vann, LMFT, AAMFT at Cornerstone Family Services.
